OrthoNebraska is seeking an Operating Room Assistant Manager to join our team.
This role has the privilege of leading an experienced team, including RNs and CNAs, during day-to-day operations, in addition to the strategic planning of the department/organization.
The Operating Room Assistant Manager will report to the Peri-Operative Services Manager and will work closely with additional members of the leadership team.
This position has a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for effective decision making to ensure the highest possible value to the patient through excellence in quality, service, and financial management. Department/Position Details:

  • Provides day to day leadership to team. Oversees Departmental functions.
  • Experience working with a Data Analytics and/or Quality Improvement
  • Focus on creating and maintaining a work environment that is safe and appropriate
  • Key member in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform essential staff functions
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Participate and help lead in performance improvement activities.
  • Will partner with department manager to facilitate performance development with team members including coaching and corrective action
  • Attend, plan, and assist in leading department meetings.
  • Attend mandatory educational programs.
  • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Employee is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Required registered nurse licensed in the State of Nebraska or eligible compact state.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certification in a nursing specialty area preferred within two years of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.

Experience:

  • Minimum two years clinical experience required.
  • Minimum one year of leadership experience required.

Physical:

  • This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work
