Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a Platform Engineer within its overall software organization, reporting to the Sr. Manager, DevOps. This important role will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operational aspects of software development, ensuring system integrity, reliability, and uptime, managing and supporting software development tools and environments, and continuously monitoring, exploring, and recommending new technologies to ensure infrastructure optimization and performance for our customers.

Position Details

This is a full-time, salaried, hybrid position that is based in our Omaha, NE global headquarters with a highly competitive benefits package. Travel requirements will be minimal (<10%), but there may be some travel to various office locations and conferences.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day operational aspects of the software organization, including infrastructure management/monitoring, code deployment to environments/version control, code-base management, and software quality assurance
  • Assist in the design and implementation of build, deployment, and configuration management, along with documenting the process and policies associated with each for the software organization
  • Continuously monitor, explore, and recommend new technologies
  • Assist in the design, implementation and testing of CI/CD pipelines and quality assurance automation for the software organization
  • Implement and test disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure minimal downtime for users
  • Conduct system tests for security and performance
  • Adheres to the Lindsay software organizations coding standards and guidelines, as well as the group's various processes, policies, and procedures
  • Clearly communicates issues and roadblocks in order to maintain sprint scope and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical education or equivalent experience.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in software development, infrastructure development, IT, DevOps, platform engineering, or related field, including 2+ years of experience working on net-new DevOps/Platform engineering projects/solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where constant iteration, improvement, and innovation is key to the success of the team
  • Robust problem-solving skills, the ability to learn from doing, personal accountability, and a positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to clearly and rapidly communicate problems and solutions in order to prevent bottlenecks and facilitate the release process
  • Demonstrated proficiency with three or more of the following technologies and tools: Linux infrastructures, SQL databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), CI/CD pipelines and tools, scripting/automated testing techniques and tools, various cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Swarm)
  • Solid understanding of the following: Web APIs, IoT device communication and protocols, Agile Scrum, Git Flow
