Clarkson College is currently accepting applications for student worker positions. Once you have applied and completed the interview process, you will be assigned to one of the available student worker roles based on your skills, interests, and departmental needs. The student worker can work up to 19 hours per week.
Educational Assistant at Pinewood Elementary School:
The Educational Assistant (EA) position provides academic support and mentorship to elementary-aged students at Pinewood Elementary School in Omaha, Nebraska. The EA helps students with reading and math comprehension, fluency, literacy skills, and any other curriculum set forth by the teacher(s). The EA works closely with the school principal, teachers, and any after-school program directors to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment for all students. In conjunction with the school principal, the EA will select their work schedule each semester, noting that the maximum number of hours worked per week is 19.
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to travel to and complete work hours on-site at Pinewood Elementary School, located at 6717 N. 63rd Street, Omaha, NE 68152.
Must exhibit a desire to work with children by supporting the classroom teacher in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for young students.
Previous experience working with elementary school students in a tutoring, mentoring, or teaching capacity preferred but not required.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a team environment is required.
Must be reliable and punctual and committed to fulfilling scheduled hours.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
Ability to handle confidential information required.
After-School Reading Tutoring Assistant
The After-School Reading Tutoring Assistant position consists of a Clarkson College student providing children tutoring for reading at a local federal, state, or public agency. This position requires students to be motivated and compassionate as they assist elementary-aged students through academic support and mentorship. In addition, the After-School Reading Tutoring Assistant helps students with reading comprehension, fluency, and literacy skills. The After-School Reading Tutoring Assistant works closely with the school site directors and after-school program directors to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment for all students.
Required Qualifications
Must exhibit a desire to work with children and help them develop their reading and literacy skills.
Previous experience working with elementary school students in a tutoring, mentoring, or teaching capacity preferred but not required.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students are required.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently required.

Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the program and its participants.
Familiarity with educational technology and resources for teaching reading is a plus.

Student Lab Assistant:
The Student Lab Assistant will provide department faculty members, or other professional staff members support by performing the necessary skills required to support the lab instructors with laboratory activities and student needs.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a student at Clarkson College, required.
Knowledge of lab equipment and processes required.
Understanding of laboratory procedures and equipment required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
Effective organizational skills required.
Ability to work independently required.
Computer and data entry skills required.
Financial Aid:
The Financial Aid Office student worker position assists the department with general work office support duties. This entails greeting walk-in students, answering basic financial aid questions over the phone, filing projects, data entry and other office duties as assigned.
Interprofessional Learning Center:
The Interprofessional Learning Center (IPLC) position assists with organizing and stocking linens, Sharps containers, and gloves. In addition, this position provides support during set-up/clean-up for faculty simulations and skills. Also, assists with manikin and equipment cleaning, running manikins for simulations, and software support/updates for all computers. The IPLC position also supports the IPLC Administrator with clerical projects, such as recording keeping, updating bulletin boards, laminating, and other duties as assigned.
Registrar's Office
The Registrar's Office position assists with filing projects, graduation duties, and organizing supplies for the office. In addition, this position supports all other Clarkson College departments with reception duties, guest check-in, answering multi-line phones, answering questions, data entry, filing, and other duties as assigned.
Office Support
The office support position assists various Clarkson College departments in the operations by performing general office duties.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry position assists with organizing grocery deliveries, stocking food items, sorting/stocking clothing donations, tracking inventory, and providing occasional clean-up assistance. In addition, this position provides support to all Clarkson College departments with operations by performing general office duties, including reception duties, guest check-in, answering multi-line phones, answering questions, data entry, filing, and other duties as assigned.
