Job Title: Chemist 

Location: Chattanooga, TN 

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemist with a background in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science, or other highly related field to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of polymer synthesis and analysis with experience in the energy field. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Process Development: Lead and manage process development projects related to polymer synthesis, and charge exchange materials. 

• Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize products with a focus on polymer synthesis, characterization, and application in energy-related projects. 

• Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure product consistency and compliance with industry standards. 

• Chemical Safety: Ensure adherence to chemical safety protocols and regulations in all process and product development activities. 

• Lab Maintenance: Ensure that equipment & raw materials are available and maintained (orders raw materials, writes work orders/coordinates maintenance activities) 

• Team Communication: Completes related paperwork, reports, and support functions. Monitors inventory for each job to ensure appropriate levels. 

Qualifications: 

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or related field.  

• 5-10 years of experience in the Chemical Industry/Polymer Science background. 

• Strong background in energy-related applications, such as batteries, fuel cells, or energy storage materials. 

• Proven track record in Process & Product development, with a focus on polymer materials. 

• Experience in Quality control and manufacturing processes. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
