ESU #3 is hiring a Pyramid Expansion Grant Coach!  

This one-year position offers a unique chance to partner with Vanderbilt University on a groundbreaking research study in multiple school districts in the Omaha area.

As a Pyramid Expansion Grant Coach, you’ll:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Pyramid Expansion Grant Coach

Job Title Code: 7566

Number of Days Worked: 180 days/year for the 2025-2026 School Year

Department:  Student Services

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Immediate Supervisor:  Pyramid Expansion Grant Coordinator

Staff Supervised:  None  

Essential Requirements:  

  1. No history of child abuse or negligence.

  2. Successfully pass required background checks.

  3. Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  Master’s degree preferred.

  4. Experience:  At least 5 years working with young children in a school district setting (birth to age 5) and experience with Practice Based Coaching preferred.

  5. Knowledge and expertise regarding developmentally appropriate practices.

  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, competent interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.  Ability to communicate using technology, develop reports, and track data.

  7. Foundational knowledge and experience implementing the Pyramid Model practice.

  8. Experience and/or education in adult learning, coaching experience preferred.

  9. Knowledge of early childhood systems and ability to collaborate.

  10. Regular and dependable in person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment. The assigned duties of this position may allow consideration of occasional/infrequent remote work with the approval of the supervisor. Remote work is subject to the remote work guidelines and conditions outlined in the job description. The supervisor may withdraw the remote work option at any time.    

Essential Responsibilities:  

  1. Serve as a classroom coach supporting teachers with implementing the Pyramid Model as prescribed by Vanderbilt University as part of the Pyramid Expansion Grant study.  

  2. Conduct focused classroom observations as prescribed by Vanderbilt University.  

  3. Facilitate debrief meetings after classroom observations.

  4. Assist with supporting teachers to create individualized support plans for students in need of assistance.  

  5. Provide in-classroom support to teachers, as needed or requested (e.g., model practice implementation, co-teach a lesson, help with environmental arrangement).

  6. Attend trainings and meetings as assigned.

  7. Create materials for Pyramid model classroom supports as needed

  8. Provide support for child and teacher data collection efforts.

  9. Provide support and technical assistance to administrators and leadership teams around quality environments and the essential components of the Pyramid Model.  

  10. Develop a sustainability plan that identifies the districts’ strengths and needs and details how teachers will receive support to implement Pyramid Model 

  11. Support implementation of sustainability plan.

  12. Must have reliable transportation to travel to various trainings and/or meetings at school districts and off-site locations.  

  13. Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.

  14. Other duties as assigned.
