Department/Position Details:

  • Always provide exceptional customer service by placing the patients' needs above all else.
  • Leave a lasting impression that differentiates OrthoNebraska from other organizations.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills with all patients, visitors and employees in the daily
  • Engage in and foster a positive team environment.
  • Accurately collect and enter patient demographic & insurance information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Conduct insurance verification process.
  • Collect patient payments in a professional manner.
  • Assist patients with wayfinding within our campus.
  • Assist patients with registration process, when necessary.
  • Check in patient in an efficient, complete, and personalized manner.
  • Schedule appointments accurately with the patient convenience as a priority.
  • performance of duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect for patient rights.
  • Regularly attend and actively participate in team meetings.
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Team member is responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent education/experience/credentials preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

Experience:

  • Two years of customer service-related experience, required.
  • Prior healthcare experience, desired.
  • Understanding revenue cycle including insurance payers, precertification, billing, and collections is beneficial.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments while prioritizing our patients' needs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Physical:

  • This position is classified as Sedentary Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (33%-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
