POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent will promptly and accurately create and maintain production drawings and installation instructions for both new and existing Lozier products as well as customer profile drawings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Working independently in accordance with departmental objectives and procedures:
  • Create and maintain production drawings and installation instructions from sketches and verbal or written information provided by Engineer.
  • Create and maintain customer requested drawings, layouts and exploded views of products.
  • Manage drawings in the corporate document management software.
  • Creates engineering change orders and starts them into process.
  • Assist in the collection of departmental turn time performance data for reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in the logging of change request activity.
  • Provide Drafting commitments for new products and engineering change orders.
  • As required, electronically transmit preliminary drawing/specification data to Manufacturing Data Management in order to expedite the entry of bills of materials (product structure) and routing in the corporate database.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Minimum of two-year technical degree in related field (or equivalent Engineering, Drafting or Manufacturing experience).

Experience: If degreed, no work experience required (required skills listed below). If non-degreed, minimum of 2 years related work experience in Engineering, Drafting or Manufacturing discipline.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic mathematics (fractions, decimals, trigonometry).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic drafting practices (drawing, layout, dimensioning).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering specifications (prints).
  • Basic PC skills (Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge in a 3D computer aided drafting software (such as Inventor, Solidworks, SolidEdge)
