Position Highlights:
Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Pharmacist Resident (PGY2). This position is only for applicants who participate in the match to Nebraska Medicine through the ASHP Resident Matching Program conducted by the National Matching Services. This specific position will work in Omaha, NE.
Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) pharmacy residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions, and board certification in the advanced practice area, if available.
Residents will provide pharmacy services in assigned patient care areas and ensure all medication related patient and care provider needs are met. Work proactively as a member of a team(s) to ensure the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care. Demonstrate a dedication to continual and constant quality improvement according to professional standards and practices.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program (or one in the process of pursuing accreditation) by the start of the residency program required.
Completing or have completed an ASHP-accredited or candidate-status PGY1 pharmacy residency program required.
Acceptance as a pharmacy resident through the ASHP Pharmacy Resident Matching Program (Phase I, Phase II or Post-Match Process) or acceptance through the Early Commitment Process to a Nebraska Medicine PGY2 pharmacy residency program required.
Must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Nebraska by the start of the residency program and must be licensed to practice pharmacy without restriction in the state of Nebraska in accordance with the pharmacy resident licensure requirements policy required.
Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills required.
Ability to work on average 60 hours per week and on any shift required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Basic knowledge in office computer tools such as Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook required.
