The Assistant supports the department's responsibilities by responding to customer's electronic business request such as service orders and agency pledges, processing customer transactions including product enrollment, and responding to service restoration calls during power outages.
1. Responsible to respond to customer and community agency electronic business requests via various means of communication.
- Assist customers with a friendly and professional approach by telephone, mail, email, and all other channels of communication.
- Process customer request to start, stop and transfer service and product enrollment request received via internet.
- Correspond with pledging agencies to ensure authorization information is correct, verify customer account information, enter appropriate transactions on customer's account to prevent disconnections when pledges are made and ensure timely reconnection of service.
- Receive undeliverable correspondence via mail and My Account, verify accurate data with customer, and update the customer systems accordingly.
- Must maintain the confidentiality of customer information.
2. Answer service restoration calls or place calls to customers during power outages.
3. Perform general clerical support.
- Complete third party notice requests.
- Retrieve returned mail from Energy Plaza weekly and update contact information and mailing addresses.
- Performs other clerical support such filing and data entry.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to understand concerns and overcome objections.
- Aptitude for working with computer systems and good keyboarding skills.
Desired:
- One (1) year of experience working in customer service.
