Job Title: Educational Technician 2 - IMS Mobile Device Management
Location: Information Management Services, User Support, Teacher Administrative Center, 3215 Cuming St. Omaha, NE 68131
Reports to: Director, User Support
Work Schedule/FLSA Status: 12 month/ Hourly Non-Exempt
Salary Schedule: Office Personnel 36B. Starting at $19.62/hour plus benefits.
Position Purpose: This position will work primarily with the Mobile Device Management team in a support role. The primary focus will be assisting with upkeep, distribution, collection, and facilitating repair for 100K+ devices owned by Omaha Public Schools. This position will involve being part of a team of technicians who work together to achieve efficient outcomes for the students and staff OPS serves. Data entry and management will be a large part of this role, and attention to detail is essential. Daily tasks will include data entry, spreadsheet manipulation, collaboration with team members, inventory management, device preparation, and other assignments as necessary.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Data input/updating and spreadsheet manipulation
- Helpdesk ticket processing and follow-up
- Device preparation using a mobile device management platform
- Physically preparing devices for distribution
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving with other technicians
- Transporting devices to other sites throughout the district as necessary
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment: This position requires the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, and scanners. Must always comply with OPSâ??s guidelines for equipment use.
Travel: Travel within the District will be required. Mileage reimbursement where appropriate.

- Work in an office environment, school buildings and warehouse setting.
Interrelations:
- Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors.
- Will be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor to complete day-to-day tasks.
- Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues.
- Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service.
Employee Punctuality and Appearance:
- In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday unless the employee has received approved leave.
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employeeâ??s supervisor or building administrator.
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Omaha Public Schools and is appropriate for their position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum of an Associate's degree, preferred.
- Minimum of three years successful device/technical support experience preferred.
- Demonstrates technology skills using iOS and MacOS, with experience using Mobile Device Management platforms desirable.
- Demonstrates technology skills using Microsoft Word & Excel. Proficient abilities in creating and using spreadsheets.
- Possesses excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Above average attendance and prior work record.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of device imaging software.
- Demonstrated technology skills with the internet and Microsoft Office365, including creating mail merges and creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets using filters, formulas, charts, etc.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
Terms of Employment:
This position is treated as a full-time, non-exempt classified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies, as those laws and policies may change from time to time. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative, then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
