Position Summary | A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mabruka Alfaidi, in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology. The Alfaidi Lab has a long-standing interest in vascular cell signaling and the impact of vascular molecular/ genetics mechanisms on phenotypic changes in the context of cardiopulmonary- vascular diseases. This individual will help design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career. Designs, evaluates experiments and interprets data. Develops new ideas that promote current research. Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. Teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff and students. |

Required Qualifications | PhD, or MD/PhD in vascular biology and/or pulmonary hypertension. Candidates with previous experience in animal models of pulmonary hypertension are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will also have experience in directing and training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows; organizing and presenting research results a local, national and international seminars and meetings; as well as help in preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. The candidate must be able to multitask, be self-motivated, and work independently in a dynamic research environment while maintaining professionalism for collaborative work.
